This Cancellation & Refund Policy describes the conditions under which bookings made through Sundarban Travel / Sonakshi Travels may be cancelled, amended, or refunded. It is designed to maintain transparency for travellers and ensure fair operational planning for transport, boat safari scheduling, forest permits, and accommodation arrangements.
The Sundarbans is a regulated destination where many services are arranged in advance—such as licensed boat allocation, forest entry permissions, guide assignment, and resort confirmations. Therefore, cancellation timelines directly affect recoverable costs. We request all travellers to review this policy before confirming a booking.
2) Booking Cancellation Eligibility
Who can cancel: Any client with a confirmed booking may request cancellation subject to the terms stated here.
How to submit: Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing via official email or the designated contact form on our website.
Effective time: The cancellation date and time is considered as the timestamp when we receive your written request.
3) Cancellation Period & Charges
Cancellation terms may vary depending on the package type (shared tour vs private tour), resort category, and third-party supplier rules. The standard timeline structure is outlined below:
Cancellations 14 days or more before departure:
You may be eligible for a full or partial refund based on the confirmed booking structure and recoverable service costs.
Cancellations less than 14 days before departure:
The booking may incur a cancellation fee or may be non-refundable, depending on the package and supplier policies.
Note: Private arrangements (such as exclusive boats, premium stays, or special meal planning) often involve advance blocking of inventory. If you booked a premium plan, please review: Private Luxury Package.
4) Refund Policy
A) Refund Calculation
Refund eligibility and refund amount (if any) depends on the booking type and the cancellation timeline. Where applicable, we may deduct a processing / administration fee to cover reservation handling, payment gateway costs, and coordination expenses.
B) Refund Processing Time
Once a cancellation request is reviewed and confirmed, refunds (if applicable) are processed within 15–20 business days.
Refunds are issued to the original payment method used at the time of booking.
5) Exceptional Circumstances
A) Force Majeure
If travel is disrupted by circumstances beyond the control of Sundarban Travel—such as natural disasters, cyclones, government restrictions, sudden closures, or emergencies—we may offer one of the following depending on feasibility:
Alternative travel dates or rescheduling options
Alternative service arrangements of similar category (subject to availability)
A full or partial refund, as applicable
B) Third-Party Service Provider Policies
Some parts of your trip may be subject to third-party terms (for example, resorts, transport providers, or other service vendors).
In such cases, the relevant supplier cancellation policy will apply. Travellers are advised to review these details at the time of booking.
6) Cancellation Procedure
Notification: Send your cancellation request via our official email or website contact form.
Please mention booking name, travel date, and contact number for verification.
Confirmation: After receiving the request, we will confirm by email with cancellation status, refund eligibility, refund amount (if applicable), and any cancellation fees.
Amendments instead of cancellation: If you want to change travel dates or adjust traveller count rather than cancel,
contact our support team to explore feasible alternatives.
7) Final Note
Sundarban Travel reserves the right to revise this policy when required for operational, regulatory, or supplier-related updates.
The latest version will always be published on our website, and travellers are encouraged to review it periodically.
